The momentum for MLB-to-Portland continues to build.
On Wednesday’s Dan Patrick Show, DP and the Danettes brought up the possibility of baseball in the Rose City.
Credit Seton for bringing up the topic, but once the Boss heard the idea, he reacted positively.
“Big baseball city,” Patrick said of Portland. “But once again, who is relocating there? Are you going to add? Or is there a relocation with a team there?”
The Oakland A’s name was brought up as a possibility for relocation, with some hesitance given the sensitivity to their fan base.
Again, Seton furthered the conversation, citing the possibility for Portland to build a smaller-scale stadium as opposed to a larger home.
That’s when Dan bought in.
“I love it,” he said, repeating again, “I love it.”
“That’s when you have a home field advantage.”
Practical challenges undoubtedly remain for our metropolis to call itself a Major League town. But any push from national media, particularly a slugger with the strength of Dan Patrick, is certainly welcome.
