Sporting drops Timbers

PROVIDENCE PARK — It was a double header of soccer in Portland on Saturday as the Portland Thorns and Timbers had matches at Providence Park. The Thorns started things off with a 2-0 win, before the Timbers, couldn’t make it six points on the night as they dropped one to the Sporting Kansas City 1-0. Portland was unable to put any goals on the board, but a Ngabe shot from 35 yards taht hit the crossbar was prettier than some balls that hit the back of the net. You can hear that call below:

Dom Dwyer found the back of the net with this header, that Jake Gleeson did not stand a chance against.

Nagbe had this beautiful shot that was just barely a miss, after Melia hit it off the crossbar.

Up next for the Portland Timbers it’s a battle with the Vancouver Whitecaps at Providence Park – you can hear that one right here on 102.9 The Game.
