Timbers draw Revolution

PROVIDENCE PARK — The Timbers seemed like they were in control on Sunday evening at Providence Park against the New England Revolution – up 1-0 – after a stunning volley from Diego Valeri gave them the lead, Portland was holding heir lead, until the final ten minutes.

That second goal and very allusive two goal lead never came, leaving the door open for the Revolution, and they took advantage. Off a rebound, the Revolution found the net and tied the game in the 85th minute.

Portland only got a point at home, in a game that seemed like a loss. There were some positives however – including that stunning Valeri goal and the play of Marco Farfan, who excelled once again – this time in front of his home crowd.

One goal for the Timbers tonight – and it was that Valeri stunner.
