Oregon State true freshman running back Jermar Jefferson set a number of records in his first season, and Tuesday the Pac-12 named him the Pac-12’s Offensive Freshman of the Year.

Jefferson set the OSU freshman rushing record with 1,380 yards–which was also good enough for sixth all-time in school history for single season rushing yards.

Jefferson became the second back in Beavers history to be honored as the Conference Offensive Freshman of the Year (Jacquizz Rodgers in 2008), and, this season, he became the second OSU running back with two games of 200-plus rushing yards in the same season. Jefferson was also named a Pac-12 All-Conference Honorable Mention.
