Russell Wilson got his extension, right at his self-imposed deadline.

The Seahawks inked their star quarterback to a 4-year, $140 Million extension late Monday night, including $65 Million as a signing bonus, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The 30-year-old Wilson is now under contract in Seattle through the 2023 season.

His deal makes him the highest-paid player in the NFL.  It also eclipses Aaron Rodgers’ previous record for annual new-money on a contract, averaging $35 Million a year.  It also passes the $57.5 Million signing bonus Rodgers earned with his historic extension in summer of 2018.

The report says the extension includes a no-trade clause.

Wilson is trying to become the 2nd quarterback all-time to start every game in each of his first eight seasons (Peyton Manning).

The five-time Pro Bowler is now under contract through his age 35 season in Seattle.
