Portland Thorns FC played Utah Royals FC to a 1-1 draw at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday night.
The Royals got on the board first when forward Amy Rodriguez sent one into the back of the net in the 53rd minute.
Midfielder Tobin Heath recorded her first goal of the season off an assist by team captain Christine Sinclair. Sinc delivered a pass to Heath and, taking a touch inside the box, Heath chipped the ball into the net to even up the score. The play also marked Sinclair’s team-leading second assist of 2018.
