Timbers Draw Rapids In Snowy Season Opener, 3-3

Colorado –  The Timbers were at Dick’s Sporting Goods Stadium to take on the Rapids for their season opener. Weather would play a factor in this match as snow would begin to fall and would completely cover the pitch by the start of the second half. The Timbers started this match slow from the opening whistle and the Rapids would take advantage with a goal by Kei Kamara in the 16th minute…

Diego Valeri would respond in the 29th with a clean-up penalty kick goal – after Axel Sjöberg was issued a red card for an intentional hand ball…

Sebastián Blanco would give the Timbers a goal in the 1st minute of added time – giving his team a 2-1 lead heading into halftime…

Colorado come out of the gates quick for the second half and would score in the first 30 seconds of play on a goal from Benny Feilhaber…

And in the 66th minute Deklan Wynne would send in an own goal, giving the Timbers a 3-2 lead…

But Andre Shinyashiki would break the hearts of Timbers fans everywhere with an equalizer goal in the 4th minute of added time…
